Objects

Within the oeuvre of Olivier Julia objects have a special place. They can be divided in two groups: the autonomous object designed for an appropriate place in the interior and the wall object. The cube is one of the recurrent forms of the autonomous object: placing it on one of its corners offers an optimal spatial effect. Clear construction and outline define the wall object. Physical layers add depth to the object and at the same time the wall forms a background, the basis, as a starting point for a three dimensional sculpture. The object constitutes the connection between space and spatiality, something of the utmost importance to the artist.
